In 2021 Ann-Kathrin Metzger started the company “Steelpan Experts Germany” which is a 100 percent branch of Trinidad and Tobago based “Steelpan Experts”. She is responsible for marketing, sales and customer care at Steelpan Experts Germany. Since studying journalism, she has worked for companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as for international clients in the areas of PR and marketing as well as an online and social media editor. Her passion ranges between foreign countries and cultures as well as new professional challenges. In 2017 Ann-Kathrin met the steel drum entrepreneur Adrian Jaikaran when they were both on a job for AIDA Cruises on a Caribbean route. Since then she has continuously expanded her knowledge of the steel drum and the associated market and is always fascinated by the exotic instrument and the culture associated with it.

Adrian Jaikaran

Quality Management Steelpan Experts Ltd.

Adrian Jaikaran is a well-known steel drum soloist and entrepreneur from Trinidad & Tobago. For more than 10 years he has been an ambassador of the steel drum culture in Europe, the Caribbean and worldwide. He gives masterclasses and workshops in schools, universities and orchestras for adults and children. Working with international partners, he shares his expert knowledge of the production and maintenance of steel drums. Adrian Jaikaran is a specialist in steel drum production and is responsible for the quality assurance of every single instrument at Steelpan Experts. His career is accompanied by creative and entrepreneurial forays such as the development of robot technology for steel drum production.

 
 

Martin Wellmann

Individual Costumer Service Steelpan Experts

Martin studied percussion and music education in Stuttgart and Trossingen. His love for the Steelpan and the culture associated with it led him to spend a semester abroad in Trinidad & Tobago at the renowned "University of the West Indies". There he met Adrian Jaikaran and established his first business relationship with him. He can already look back on years of experience with the Steelpan. The highlight of his steel drum activity so far is the inclusion of the first movement from Jan Bach's "Concerto for Steel Pan and Orchestra" in the repertoire of his final examination in Stuttgart. Martin Wellmann is a freelance artist, percussion teacher, arranger and has been a conductor for several years.
